Human Resource Manager


Excellent opportunity for a well-trained, talented, self-driven experienced Human Resource Manager to join a leading pork sausage manufacturer that provides, quite possibly, the best tasting sausage in America. Ideal candidates will have 5-10 years of related experience within a lean manufacturing food production environment. A four year degree is required. PHR/SPHR/SHRM Certifications a plus as well as bilingual skills in English and Spanish.

The Human Resource Manager position is to plan, organize, and lead organizational effectiveness, employee engagement, recruitment, compensation and benefits administration, implementing and developing policies and programs, communications, and building and maintaining an open and trusting relationship with team members to promote optimal business performance.


  • Align the Human Resource department with the company’s vision, mission statement and core values.
  • Be the strategic partner to the COO and Senior Management Team as well as an advisor with employees.
  • Being responsible and accountable for all Human Resource functions, including, but not limited to staffing, temporary agencies, search firms, employee relations, organizational effectiveness, and leadership support and development.
  • Partner with the leadership team in developing and tracking execution of a strategic HR plan, ensuring alignment with organization priorities.
  • Develop comprehensive compensation plans for all levels of the organization along with performance improvement plans.
  • Translate the organization’s needs into HR strategic and operational plans establishing key metrics and performance tracking processes – KPI’s, STIP Goals, labor cost analysis, etc. Report quarterly and annually.
  • Guide and direct the Security, Safety, Training and Retail Store teams.
  • Oversee workforce planning and talent management processes to identify and address competency, knowledge and talent gaps. Areas of emphasis include staffing, talent development and succession planning programs to ensure the organization is prepared to meet short and long term goals.
  • Develop and execute in partnership with team members actions to maintain and improve employee engagement. Strengthen core competencies with fact based research and training.
  • Provide coaching and guidance regarding employee management and individual development plans.
  • Continually assess the relevance of HR programs and practices and to streamline operations.
  • Manage and resolve employee relations issues. Conduct effective, thorough and objective investigations. Provide consultation to managers with respect to performance management, employee development, disciplinary actions, etc.
  • Benefit administration for all employees – medical, dental, vision and supplemental plans.
  • Ensuring and maintaining compliance with federal and state regulations and employment practices such as FMLA, Drug Free workplace and others.
  • Assisting in the interpretation of company policies and procedures. Proactively ensuring that company policies are administered in a fair and equitable manner.
  • Partnering with operations and training management, developing, administering and conducting training and development programs.
  • Monitoring the salary administration and performance appraisal process, ensuring timely adherence and review for appropriateness and completeness.
  • Partnering with leadership to design and implement effective communications and recognition programs.
  • Lead and develop the Human Resources department, to strengthen competencies in leadership and organization development, compensation administration, HR systems, and talent management.​
  • Champion the Employee Handbook revisions and publication.


  • 5-10 years experience in a food processing or manufacturing environment with hourly workforce and expertise in a lean manufacturing environment
  • High Performance Work Teams experience desired but not required
  • SPHR certification preferred, but not required
  • Must possess maturity, strong business ethics, professionalism, leadership skills, communication skills, and the ability to work in a team environment
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States.
  • Must possess good to excellent Microsoft Office skills (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)



Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, or Business Administration
